FUNKe Neighbor: The Art Workshop

The Art Workshop is a program started 25 years ago by Nancy Kopp when she opened an art studio in the basement of her home in Wyoming. After a few years, the program moved to the Center for the Arts in Wyoming, where it thrived for 15 years. And now it is located at Funke’s!

The art enrichment program reinforces what is learned in school about art and adds special media not often used because of cost or the difficulty of use in a large group. Thus a mixed media program was born that taught the language, principles and history of art and included materials like soft and oil pastels, watercolor pencils and paint, ink, dye, charcoal, wood, plaster, wire, acrylic paint, oil paint, papier mache, fabric, specialty papers and of course CLAY! This year, after adding instructor Curtis Smith, we are proud to have class offerings for every age and ability level from 2 years of age and up. We have drawing and painting classes for adults and also offer home school programs. Classes are held afterschool, evenings and weekends for kids and can be joined at any time for a pro-rated fee. Check us out!

Our goal is to teach, inspire and guide individuals of all ages and ability levels through their personal journeys of discovery, learning and self-expression in the visual arts.
