The FUNKē FIRED ARTS galleries were created with a simple mission: To deepen the appreciation of the fired arts the showcasing of work by renowned and emerging ceramic artists alike. The gallery directors and I are pleased to present you with the following:
In the Exhibition Gallery
The Thomas J. Funke Signature/Exhibition Gallery is located in Cincinnati’s affluent neighborhood, Hyde Park. The gallery showcases emerging and established artists whose innovative mixed-media works emphasize the use of clay and illustrate clay’s enormous range as an artistic medium. The exhibition space features five diverse exhibitions per year in the 1550 square foot gallery room. We are now accepting proposals for group and solo exhibitions for the 2008-2010 seasons. Jennifer will present a PowerPoint presentation/discussion which focuses on her work, career building techniques, and selling possibilities that she has used over the past thirty years.
FUNKe Workshop Series: "Throwing, Altering, and Carving Techniques in Porcelain" REGISTER NOW
Saturday, February 6th and Sunday, February 7th - 9am - 4pm both days
In this two-day hands-on workshop, Jennifer will demonstrate her unique techniques for "dry-throwing" and altering wheel-thrown, sculptural porcelain work.

FUNKe Workshop Series: "From the Navajo to Frida Kahlo: Art as a Visual Language"
Saturday, April 10th from 9am - 4pm
In this one-day hands-on workshop, Terri begins with a formal presentation which explores narrative symbolism throughout art history. Participants will create their own visual language and iconography using color, form, and design to create a sculptural piece.

The Studio Selects Gallery features the work of studio artists, area students, and special showcases.
In the Galleriē Annex
The Galleriē Annex is a retail gallery featuring hand-crafted art focused on the fired arts. Other selections include glass, bronze work, hand-made jewelry, paintings, mixed media pieces, and other two-dimensional works of art.
