Class Policies & Procedures
The fee for one session of classes provides for the following (unless otherwise specified):
- Unlimited studio time during business hours (to be used by the end of your session).
- A storage shelf for your work and supplies.
- All materials required for glazing class projects at cone 6 and/or cone 9.
- Firing allotment for pieces made for class.
- Introductory classes include 20lbs of clay and a tool kit.
Cancellations and Session Changes
Cancellations and session changes are permitted up to 14 days prior to the start of the session. Due to the limited number of spaces available in each class, students who must cancel from 14 to 7 days prior to the start of a session will be refunded 50% of the class fee. No refunds are permitted on cancellations less than 7 days prior to the start of the session. We reserve the right to cancel or merge any of our classes based on enrollment. All students that may be affected by this change will be notified, and those students will have the right to cancel their registration for a full refund, or receive a credit for the next class session.
Makeup Policy
FUNKē FIRED ARTS is not responsible for changes in students’ personal schedules. All students must attend one class per week to ensure that they keep up with the sequential material covered in class. If a class must be missed, students may attend a different session (different meeting time) of the same class that week, if there is another session and there is room. Please call ahead. No additional makeup classes, refunds, or credits for class will be given for missed classes. Private lessons are available at $50.00 per hour.
End of Session Policies
Your instructor will ask you if you plan on re-registering for class during your class session. If you do not plan on re-registering your instructor will advise you on when to use the Customer Pick-Up firing forms. The last week for working in wet clay is week 3 for 4 week classes, week 7 for 8 week classes, and week 11 for 12 week classes. The last week of each session is reserved for glazing. Non-returning students must clear off their shelves by the Sunday before glaze week. Any work or personal items found on shelves of students who have not re-registered for class before Monday of glaze week will become property of the studio to be recycled or thrown away as we re-assign shelves to new students.
